Absence of Matheson: The reason is now revealed and it is rather concerning
A few minutes before the start of the game against the Ottawa Senators, the Montreal Canadiens surprisingly announced that Mike Matheson would not be participating in the match, ultimately being replaced by the young Kaiden Guhle.
This absence certainly raised many concerns among the supporters of the Canadiens, and the organization finally mentioned the reason behind this unexpected change.
"It is as a precautionary measure that Mike Matheson is not playing tonight. We should know more after the match." - Renaud Lavoie
It's reassuring to see that the Habs top defenseman did not suffer a serious injury, but it is still worrying to see that he is clearly not at 100% right now.
We will have to wait for the post-match press conference of the head coach, Martin St-Louis, to get a more in-depth update on his health status.
