The Canadiens do seem to be lacking offensive firepower. Yes, there are young players like Joshua Roy making strides in Laval, but the organization's plan appears to be to let him spend a year with the Rocket.

When you look at the top nine forwards, there are three players who haven't scored yet, namely Josh Anderson, Juraj Slafkovsky, and Rafaël Harvey-Pinard. After 10 games, it's starting to feel like a long time.

It's evident that Kirby Dach hasn't been replaced, and in the short term, it could involve bringing in a veteran who is sitting at home and wouldn't be costly. Phil Kessel may not be the player he once was, but he can still put the puck in the net and wouldn't be a burden on a top-nine roster.

"Let's use Kirby's LTIR on Kessel.

Elite shot. Can help carry the puck for Suzuki, Cole, Slaf. Is a powerplay threat. Veteran cup winning culture bringer. Carries the mail. The jersey would go hard."

Furthermore, the forward has mentioned that his streak of consecutive games doesn't matter to him; he just wants to play, even if he might be scratched from time to time. He still has the passion and is confident he can help a team.
