It's over in San Jose for former Montreal Canadien, Mike Hoffman
This summer, Kent Hughes accomplished what was considered almost impossible: trading Mike Hoffman at his full salary. Now in San Jose, it can be said that the Sharks' GM must bitterly regret it.
Several former Canadiens players are not performing well at the beginning of this season. Jonathan Drouin, Tomas Tatar, and Jeff Petry have also been healthy scratches.
Similar to Drouin in Colorado, Hoffman started on the first line and on the power play. However, with just one point in nine games, his performance has been clearly insufficient.
He has been a healthy scratch, and all indications suggest it might be the case again today.
The Sharks have a record of 0-9-1, their worst in the last 10 years in the NHL. And Mike Hoffman can't crack the lineup. This speaks volumes about the future of his career. So, unless there is a major turnaround, it seems to be over for him.
