Over the past few days, some observers have linked Tomas Tatar to the Canadiens, mentioning the possibility of a potential reunion between the Montreal organization and the former New Jersey Devils forward. However, due to the surplus of forwards with the Tricolore, it would be very surprising to see Kent Hughes grant him a contract for the next season.

Moreover, during his appearance on Sportsnet Central, Elliotte Friedman revealed major information regarding the possibility of the 32-year-old Slovak forward signing a deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Indeed, according to him, Kyle Dubas would be very interested in acquiring the veteran's services with a view to improving the Pens' offense in 2023-2024.

Furthermore, thanks to the trade concluded with the San Jose Sharks and the Montreal Canadiens, the Pennsylvanian team managed to free up $3.1 million under the salary cap, a sum that could notably be invested in Tomas Tatar.

There is no doubt that the addition of the veteran could bring a very interesting dimension to the Penguins' lineup, as he is able to contribute offensively while excelling in defensive territory.

Aged 32, Tomas Tatar has just had an excellent season with the New Jersey Devils, scoring a total of 20 goals and 28 assists (48 points) in 82 games. Over his career in the NHL, he has also reached the 20-goal mark seven times, showing that he can undoubtedly be an important asset on a team's first three lines.
