Appalling scene of a hockey coach attacking a 9-year-old player
It's scenes like these that we hope not to see in 2023. A coach from the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL) has clearly crossed the line, and actions will be taken against him.
During a practice, the coach repeatedly struck the child's legs with a hockey stick and subsequently pushed him. While hockey is known as a robust sport, the coach's intentions likely weren't to cause harm. However, such methods are no longer acceptable, especially with 9-year-old children who simply want to enjoy playing hockey.
A report has been submitted, and the GTHL is taking steps to address and prevent such behaviors.
