Arber Xhekaj potentially ended the career of a former Montreal Canadiens player, as forward Zack Kassian announces his retirement
Arber Xhekaj wasted no time in making a name for himself in the NHL. The Canadiens' enforcer didn't hesitate to drop the gloves, but he's also showing that he's a good hockey player.
If we go back to the beginning of last year, number 72 fought Zack Kassian and completely dominated him. Kassian was never the same player afterward.
He tried this year with a professional tryout contract, but to no avail, and he has just announced his retirement at the age of 32.
Kassian was part of the Canadiens organization in 2015, although he didn't play any games with the team. He was traded to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for Ben Scrivens.
Did the fight against Xhekaj harm his career? According to many, it certainly did. In any case, we wish him good luck in his future endeavors.
