Barry Trotz made the statement that all the fans want to hear from Kent Hughes
As he will be experiencing his first NHL draft as General Manager, Barry Trotz has just made a huge statement about his mentality regarding the picks to be made for his organization.
He did not mince words, saying he wants his scouting team to aim for home runs at every attempt. He wants the best pure talent with each of the Predators' picks.
The GM even added this:
"I can find you 3rd line and 4th line guys, no problem. Go get me guys who make people jump out of their seats." - Barry Trotz
Wow! This is the kind of statement Canadiens fans would like to hear from Kent Hughes.
Trotz doesn't want safe picks for guys who will become complements in a future lineup, he wants his team to try to hit it out of the park at every at-bat.
With this mentality in Montreal, it is undeniable that if Matvei Michkov was available at the 5th pick, he would certainly be selected by the Canadiens.
With the 15th and 24th picks of the first round, we can therefore expect electrifying players for the Predators on June 28.
