Canadiens' goaltender trade: Kent Hughes has a golden opportunity he must not miss
The Canadiens' goaltending trio is starting to become a burden. However, the picture seems to be getting clearer, and according to several sources, Jake Allen would be the goaltender sacrificed among the three.
While his contract doesn't favor Kent Hughes, if he was able to trade Mike Hoffman and his hefty salary, he should be able to do the same with Allen. It's just a matter of finding the right partner.
An injury to a starting goaltender would greatly assist the Canadiens' GM, and it just so happens that it has occurred. Philipp Grubauer will be sidelined for several weeks with a lower-body injury.
The Kraken have already been linked to the Canadiens for a goaltending transaction earlier this season, and Jake Allen could well fit their needs.
