Trailing 3-1 in their series against the Vegas Golden Knights, the Florida Panthers simply have no more room for error if they hope to claim the first Stanley Cup in their history. However, Paul Maurice's men might have to play the most important game of their season without the services of their top scorer.
Matthew Tkachuk, who has been sensational since the start of the playoffs with a tally of 11 goals and 13 assists in 20 games, might be absent for tonight's duel. Even though he stayed in the game last Saturday, the 25-year-old forward seemed clearly bothered by an injury.
Paul Maurice has notably refused to provide an update on the health status of his scorer and all signs point to the decision being made just minutes before the match. Even if Tkachuk is able to participate in the game, he certainly won't be at 100% and this could have a major impact on the outcome of the match.
The Panthers' captain, Aleksander Barkov, had some very unsettling remarks this morning regarding the possibility of seeing the star forward in the lineup for game #5.
