Cayden Primeau leaving the organization soon?
During his press conference held after the opening of free agency, Montreal Canadiens General Manager Kent Hughes made a significant statement regarding Cayden Primeau's future in Montreal.
Despite high expectations from fans of the Canadiens, the 23-year-old goaltender Cayden Primeau has struggled to secure a regular NHL position. In his four seasons with the organization, he has only played 21 games at the NHL level, maintaining a save percentage of 0.871 and a goals-against average of 4.11.
It is becoming increasingly evident that Primeau is no longer in the plans for the Canadiens, especially considering that the team's management selected three goaltenders in the recent draft (Jacob Fowler, Quentin Miller, and Yevgeni Volokhin).
During his press conference, Kent Hughes did not shy away from stating that it was possible for the Canadiens to place Primeau on waivers in the coming months. This means that Cayden Primeau could become available for free to all NHL teams.
"Kent raises the possibility of putting Primeau on waivers. Sounds like Primeau is in trouble here." - Habs Fan TV
In light of this statement, do you believe that the goaltender's days in Montreal are numbered?
