Cole Caufield to injure Samuel Montembeault intentionally? A video is circulating on the web, and it's totally absurd
In the warm-up period of Saturday night's game, a minor incident occurred when Cole Caufield shot a puck in the direction of Samuel Montembeault, hitting him behind the leg where there is no protection.
Fortunately, Samuel was not injured in the sequence, but he is expected to have a nice bruise today.
A video is currently circulating on the web, suggesting that Caufield deliberately targeted Montembeault in this way to improve the Canadiens' chances of selecting Macklin Celebrini in the upcoming draft.
This is obviously a joke. On a more serious note, with this angle of view, it's clear that Cole was looking up and didn't notice Montembeault's arrival before shooting; otherwise, he wouldn't have done it.
In short, both players were not attentive to what was happening, and it could have ended badly. Fortunately, it was more of a scare than anything, and the Canadiens won the game.
