Since this summer, there have been rumors involving the Canadiens and Trevor Zegras. The forward had a tough time reaching an agreement with the Anaheim Ducks this summer, and it seems like his contract might not be what he desired.

Insider Darren Dreger confirmed one thing: Trevor Zegras is indeed on the market, and he even encourages the Canadiens to inquire.

«If you're the Habs, why wouldn't you ask, why wouldn't you check out whether there could be a fit, but there's probably 25 other teams that'll make that same call. Now this is just me having fun but Zegras possibility is real across the board in terms of trade»

- Darren Dreger

This is music to my ears because the Canadiens have a serious lack of offensive firepower, and having a spectacular player like him in Montreal would be beneficial.

Dreger even added a second time:

"I know the Anaheim Ducks have at least tested the market (to trade Zegras). He is certainly not untouchable.

If someone takes the lead, between now and the trade deadline, I don't see why Pat Verbeek wouldn't make this trade. [...]

As I said, if you're the Montreal Canadiens, why wouldn't you look into whether a deal is possible?"

It's certain that Zegras is currently injured for six to eight weeks, but it's a fracture in the ankle, which is not too concerning. Would you like Kent Hughes to acquire him despite the injury?
