Corey Perry is absent for a very specific reason, and we have the details
This morning, we learned from the Blackhawks' general manager that Corey Perry would be absent from the team until further notice.
The way it was communicated made it seem as if Perry had done something serious, and there was genuine concern for him. However, his agent clarified the situation.
"Corey Perry has stepped away from the Chicago Blackhawks to attend of personal matters. Corey and his family appreciate privacy at this time."
While it remains concerning, at least we now know it's not because he has been banned from the team, which would have been crucial for the rest of his career.
From now on, we will respect Perry's request for privacy and wish him the best in resolving his issues, hoping he comes back strong this season.
