ECJ 2018 Scandal: Big last-minute development in connection with the London police
As we reported earlier today and in the last few hours, all signs indicate that a verdict could occur at any moment regarding the National League's report on the Team Canada 2018 scandal.
According to several journalists, an announcement would be imminent, which would imply unprecedented suspensions in the history of the NHL.
A major clue also identifies three players who would potentially be involved in this massive case. We mentioned it in a previous article.
In connection with an imminent announcement, we have a last-minute development that has been reported by journalist Katie Strang of The Athletic. According to her information, the London police state that the investigation is still ongoing, not that it would be finished.
«According to the spokesperson for the London police, contacted this morning, the investigation into allegations targeting the 2018 Junior Team Canada remains 'active and ongoing'.»

Obviously, this brings a lot of dissatisfaction, as it seems to indicate once again that the conclusion of the proceedings is not as close to being concluded as anticipated by many.
However, the police investigation and that of the NHL are not jointly linked. This therefore implies that the league could announce its verdict in connection with the upcoming suspensions, even if the police have not yet concluded theirs to bring criminal charges.
The frustration is felt among fans, but the verdict should certainly occur shortly, at the very least, before the start of NHL training camps.
