Extremely concerning scene in New York as a player is being carried off on a stretcher
During the game between the Ottawa Senators and the New York Islanders, young defenseman Erik Brannstrom crossed paths with Cal Clutterbuck along the boards.
The check appeared to be legal, but Clutterbuck made a questionable move with his leg, tripping the Sens' defenseman in the process. Brannstrom fell heavily headfirst onto the ice.
Brannstrom had to leave the ice on a stretcher, a scene no one likes to witness. Let's hope the defenseman will recover without too many lasting effects.
