Extremely sad news: An 11-year-old child loses their life while playing hockey
I am truly saddened to share what is undoubtedly the most heart-wrenching news. I am at a loss for words.
An 11-year-old boy, playing in St-Eustache minor hockey, lost his life after being struck by a puck to the throat.
It is incredibly heartbreaking. No one should die like this, especially a child during a practice.
It is emphasized that it was an accidental event, but there are no further details about his identity or the burning question on everyone's mind: was he wearing his neck guard?
Here is a report from TVA Sports:
"A young hockey player, 11, was hit by a puck in the throat during a training session on Tuesday at the St-Eustache arena.
The tragic accident occurred around 7 p.m., while some parents were in the stands of one of the rinks at the Walter-Buswell complex. Under circumstances that need to be clarified, the teenager was accidentally struck in the throat by a puck, which was launched by a teammate."
The hockey world is in mourning, and we extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the young man.
