Former Canadiens player Ryan Poehling receives a slap in the face
After spending a few seasons in the Canadiens' organization, Ryan Poehling was involved in Jeff Petry's first trade with the Pittsburgh Penguins. The forward didn't stay there long, and he's now with the Philadelphia Flyers.
It's with the Flyers that the American player played the first eight games of the season without being able to contribute any points. The worst was yet to come.
Indeed, Poehling will be a healthy scratch for their next game, in favor of Morgan Frost. The Flyers represent one of the worst teams in the entire NHL, so it's a significant setback not to be able to secure a spot on the roster.
It goes to show that scoring four goals in your debut game is no guarantee of success!
