Gary Bettman and the NHL are seriously missing their mark, and it can't continue
A few months ago, when the Ottawa Senators were put up for sale, Snoop Dogg expressed interest in becoming an owner of the team.
The rap star didn't hold back when sharing his thoughts on Gary Bettman and the NHL's advertising practices. He questioned why the face of the best player, such as Connor McDavid, isn't more widely recognized and suggested that the league needs significant improvements in marketing and advertising.
"Why don't we see the face of the best player everywhere? I would ensure that everyone knows the league, which is not the case."
- Snoop Dogg
We must acknowledge that he has a point. The current situation, with the Heritage Classic taking place between the Edmonton Oilers and the Calgary Flames, is a clear example. Many people may not be aware of this significant event, and it's an opportunity to showcase the league and its top players.
There is clearly room for improvement in this regard. It's a rare statement, but the NHL might benefit from new leadership and administration with fresh ideas.
