Headline: The Montreal Canadiens missed out big time by overlooking this Hometown goaltender
Since Carey Price's departure, or more precisely, since his knee injury became recurrent, the Canadiens have struggled to have strong goaltending in their organization.
While the Rocket had Cayden Primeau, who showed promise, the situation is challenging this year. Reinforcements in front of the net would be welcome in Laval.
Interestingly, this situation could have been avoided with the signing of Louis Domingue. Currently with the Rangers' organization and playing for the Hartford Wolf Pack, things are going well for him. During his visit to Laval for a game against the Rocket, Domingue admitted that he had tried several times to sign with the Canadiens.
"Louis Domingue didn't hold back in delivering his messages this morning. He would have loved the chance to play for the Canadiens' organization. He says he expressed his interest several times in the past without a response. We could really use him in Laval."
Anthony Marcotte
For comparison, Domingue has a record of 7-1-1 this season, with a 2.11 goals-against average and a .926 save percentage. Mann and Dobes have catastrophic statistics, reflecting the team's overall performance.
