Huge Surprise at the NHL Waivers: Kent Hughes Must Absolutely Take Advantage of this Opportunity
We've just witnessed a huge surprise in the NHL as the Detroit Red Wings have placed Czech forward Filip Zadina on waivers.
Wow! We didn't see that coming at all!
This is a golden opportunity for Kent Hughes and the Canadiens to try and hit a home run. At 23 years old, Zadina was seen as one of the top prospects of his 2018 draft class, having been picked 6th overall by the Red Wings.
Since his arrival in the NHL, Zadina has had some difficulties establishing himself as a top-tier forward, with 28 goals and 40 assists (68 points) in 190 games in Detroit. However, there is no doubt that the forward has tremendous potential and impressive offensive skills.
He could certainly prove to be an excellent catch for the Habs, and the risk is practically nonexistent since he is earning a salary of 1.8 million dollars until 2025.
Will Kent Hughes offer him a contract in the next few hours? One thing is certain, we will have an answer very soon!
