He ranked Mailloux at the top of the Canadiens' prospects, ahead of David Reinbacher and Lane Hutson. Wow!
But McCagg went even further by raising the question of whether the Canadiens might have found their new "Big Three" with Mailloux, Reinbacher, and Hutson, comparing the potential of these three players with the legendary trio of Larry Robinson, Serge Savard, and Guy Lapointe.
Given the individual potential of each player, it's clear that there is considerable talent coming up with the team. However, to even imagine if McCagg's point comes even remotely close to what the "Big Three" represented for the Canadiens in the past, it would be absolutely mind-blowing!
Even more astonishing is that we haven't even mentioned Guhle, Barron, Harris, and Xhekaj, who are also expected to be part of this defensive brigade.
The future blue line of the Canadiens will undoubtedly be one of the strongest in the National Hockey League in a few years.
