A former forward of the Montreal Canadiens has had his contract terminated
Former Montreal Canadiens forward Michael Chaput had his contract terminated by Barys Nur-Sultan in the KHL due to complications from a serious injury he suffered last season. The 31-year-old Quebec native was only able to play in 10 games during the 2022-2023 season, scoring three goals.

The former forward for the Shawinigan Cataractes and Lewiston MAINEiacs has had a 10-season career in the NHL and AHL, accumulating 6 goals and 16 assists (22 points) in 182 games in the NHL. He also recorded 5 assists in 32 games with the Canadiens during the 2018-2019 season.
