Imminent trade between the Montreal Canadiens and either the New Jersey Devils or the Philadelphia Flyers, according to Pierre LeBrun
The goaltending situation at the Canadiens continues to be a topic of discussion. However, it appears that there will be a change in this matter very soon.
According to the excellent Pierre LeBrun, Cayden Primeau is reportedly on the way out. The Philadelphia Flyers and the New Jersey Devils are very interested in the services of the young goaltender, so much so that scouts from both teams were present at the Bell Centre on Thursday night.
One thing is certain: the Flyers would claim Primeau immediately if he were placed on waivers, as they are expressing early interest.
However, in terms of trades, the Devils seem to be more aggressive in improving their goaltending tandem. As contenders for major honors, they will need a goaltender ready to help them immediately.
It makes more sense now why the young Primeau guarded the net twice in the last week.
