Imminent trade involving Jake Allen from the Canadiens: it's becoming clear that he will be heading to Edmonton
Currently, the three goaltenders for the Canadiens are doing the job, but this situation cannot last forever. There is a sense that a trade is approaching, and numerous scouts have come to closely watch the Canadiens in this regard.
A very interesting development occurred Sunday night as the Canadiens hosted the Predators at the Bell Centre. The Assistant General Manager of the Oilers, who is Ken Holland's brother himself, came to observe Jake Allen's performance. And the goaltender did not disappoint.
With a duo consisting of Calvin Pickard and Stuart Skinner, the Oilers are in need of a veteran capable of stealing games, and Allen fits that criterion. The only issue lies in his salary, but Kent Hughes is known for negotiating well in that regard.
It's quite intense that the Oilers are sending scouts so often to watch the Canadiens. Before this, it was Montembeault, and now it's Jake Allen. A trade between the two clubs seems to be really close to materializing.
A situation to keep an eye on...
