Jake Allen situation: There's action, and a transaction is in the works
There is no shortage of trade rumors regarding Jake Allen. Some may seem far-fetched, but others are more concrete.
When an insider like Pierre LeBrun confirms discussions between the Canadiens and another team and reveals the identity of that team, it's serious.
Indeed, the Carolina Hurricanes and the Habs are in talks about a transaction involving Jake Allen. With Antti Raanta being placed on waivers to send him to the AHL with the Chicago Wolves and concerns about Frederik Andersen's health, their search for a solid goaltender for the playoffs makes perfect sense.
"LeBrun on Insider Trading says the Carolina Hurricanes have talked to Montreal about Jake Allen recently, the Devils have discussed Jake Allen internally. Martin Brodeur was in St. Louis with Jake Allen, so he knows him well." - Via NHL Watcher
The Devils have not yet contacted Kent Hughes about Jake Allen, but that could happen soon. The focus here is more on the Hurricanes, who seem very interested in making an acquisition that will help them take an additional step in the postseason.
