Montreal Canadiens: Emil Heineman has already been fined by Gary Bettman and the NHL
On Thursday night, Emil Heineman finally made his debut in the NHL. Used on the fourth line, the skilled scorer wasn't very visible, playing only four minutes after two periods.
However, the young man was able to showcase some impressive defensive plays. We know that his specialty lies in the power play, so let's give him time to climb the ranks and earn his place.
Similar to how all rookies do in their first career game, Heineman took to the ice at the Wild for his victory lap without a helmet. This gesture will cost him a $2,500 fine for breaking the rule.
Indeed, players are no longer allowed to participate in the warm-up period without a helmet, except for veterans who have the acquired right to do so.
For a player with a modest salary who has only received paychecks from the American Hockey League, it represents a significant sum. However, it's worth it to immortalize this unique moment!
