Jake Allen has been in all sorts of trade rumors for months now. We still hope that he will be traded before March 8th, and that the infamous three-goalie situation finally comes to an end, but there is nothing less certain.

Questioned on the subject during a recent appearance on 'L'Antichambre', Kent Hughes didn't hide the fact that the goalie market is slow, and it's possible that the Habs will finish the season with three goalies.

For the observer Marc-Olivier Beaudoin, there is no doubt that the Canadiens are stuck with this problem at least until this summer.

"If I had to bet an old $2, I would say that Jake Allen will finish the season in Montreal, and KH will try to find him a new team this summer.

His contract makes him difficult to move. Antti Raanta wasn't claimed off waivers earlier this season, and his value for money is better than Jake Allen's in my opinion.

Ivan Prosvetov is also on waivers today. I think teams have better options to acquire a goalie than giving up assets for Jake Allen.

Well, hoping that this tweet ages poorly!" - Marc-Olivier Beaudoin

We also hope that his post ages poorly, but he makes very good points. Raanta was not claimed despite having similar statistics to Allen while earning a third of his salary.

Right now, the young Prosvetov is on waivers, and teams have until Sunday at 2 p.m. to claim him. He is compared to a certain Cayden Primeau, which means that the chances of him changing organizations are high.

Let's really hope that a team is looking for a veteran in front of the net before March 8th!
