Josh Anderson on his way out of Montreal?
Many fans saw Josh Anderson as untouchable not so long ago. However, in his fourth season with the Canadiens, it's clear that he is a streaky player, and when it's not working, it can take time.
The good news in his case is that he creates things on the ice; he's not entirely invisible. In fact, he leads the NHL in causing penalties. He uses his physicality and speed but is unable to score goals. At $5.5 million per year, it will have to start paying off.
Could he be sacrificed by Kent Hughes? The question was posed by Marc-Olivier Beaudoin and reiterated by DLC. The fit between Anderson and Martin St-Louis' system would not be optimal. He is placed in every situation to succeed, but it simply isn't working.
For two consecutive years, Josh has been involved in all sorts of trade rumors at the trade deadline and during the summer. Will he finally be traded? Hopefully, he will find the back of the net soon, or else the rumors will resurface after the holidays.
