Juraj Slafkovsky made an interesting revelation about Filip Mesar and himself ahead of next season
Months before the start of his second NHL season, the Canadiens' first overall pick in 2022, Juraj Slafkovsky, now knows a little more what to expect. He has already experienced the basics of the NHL and has also adapted to life in North America.
Last year, to assist his transition to Quebec, the Slovakian lived with a host family, as requested by the Canadiens' management. Arriving at 18 years old in a new country, a new continent even, is an enormous transition.
However, for the upcoming season, things will be quite different for him. During an interview in Slovakia, Slafkovsky stated that he will be living with his good friend Filip Mesar, who was the Canadiens' second first-round pick in 2022.
While Slaf's place in Montreal is quite secure, depending on his performance in the September training camp, Mesar will likely play with the Laval Rocket.
Due to the close proximity between the two cities, it is not a bad thing for the two young men to support each other in their daily lives, even if they will probably not play for the same team next season.
