Kent Hughes made a significant statement about Cayden Primeau
The situation with the Canadiens' goalies is far from easy right now. Kent Hughes stated at the beginning of the season that he would try to resolve the situation quickly, but it seems to be dragging on.
Not only do we have no idea when the situation will be resolved, but we also don't know who will be leaving.
Renaud Lavoie spoke with the Canadiens' GM about it, and here's what he had to say:
"Talking to Kent earlier today, his point is this: Did Cayden Primeau lack rhythm in his first start against the Devils two weeks ago? And yesterday, after 16 days without playing? The answer is no." - Via Renaud Lavoie In this case, Hughes admits it's not an ideal situation, but he will do everything to get the best possible outcome:
"Is it ideal? No. But one thing is certain, we want to protect an important asset in the team. We've invested in him over the past few years, and we won't place him on waivers. It won't happen. We know we have a young man with us who will continue to grow in this league. Let's be patient; a situation will eventually arise, no matter what it is." - Renaud Lavoie
Kent Hughes advocates for patience in this matter, hoping it won't harm anyone.
