Logan Mailloux situation: Kent Hughes has provided an update on the Canadiens' prospect and it's quite concerning
Following the trade that sent Jeff Petry to the Detroit Red Wings earlier today, Kent Hughes held a press conference, revealing several intriguing pieces of information. Indeed, the Canadiens' General Manager provided an update that's somewhat concerning regarding Logan Mailloux.
According to his statements, Commissioner Gary Bettman has not yet made an official decision regarding the Canadiens' prospect, stating that the defenseman has not yet been granted permission to play in the NHL for the 2023-2024 season.
"GM Kent Hughes says the team still haven't received a response from the #NHL regarding Commissioner Gary Bettman's meeting with Logan Mailloux..." - Priyanta Emrith
Wow! This is an extremely worrying statement about the young defenseman's future!
Although Marc Dumont had mentioned that the meeting between Gary Bettman and Logan Mailloux was merely a formality, it appears that this might not be entirely the case.
Even though training camp is just a few weeks away, we are still without an answer, and it seems that we will need to wait a bit longer to find out whether the 20-year-old defenseman will be able to play in the NHL this season.
