MAJOR: Kent Hughes has a golden opportunity to acquire a highly talented player, as Johnny Gaudreau is reportedly available on the market
Here it is, the dream opportunity to make a move like Artemi Panarin and expedite the Canadiens' rebuilt, as the Rangers did.
According to several rumors, star forward Johnny Gaudreau might be available on the market. We're talking about a player of smaller stature, indeed, but one who has surpassed the 100-point mark in a season once, with another season of 99 points.
Currently, rumors are swirling around Philadelphia, but who knows what Kent Hughes might offer to acquire him.
Things simply aren't working out for Gaudreau in Columbus. A change of scenery could be beneficial for him.
One thing is certain; it's a general surprise to hear that he might be available. His contract is hefty, earning $9.75 million per year until 2029, but he has been productive with seasons of 74 and 115 points in the last two years.
In 717 career games, Johnny Hockey has amassed 705 points, nearly a point per game. He would instantly be a major asset for any NHL team.
