MUST SEE: Martin St-Louis did not hesitate to put Renaud Lavoie in his place following a rather strange question
During his post-game press conference, the head coach of the Montreal Canadiens, Martin St-Louis, did not hesitate to subtly put Renaud Lavoie in his place following a too probing question.
Of course, it was all done with respect, but it still led to a rather amusing moment as the journalist from TVA Sports switched gears trying to modify his question afterward.
It's no secret to anyone, Montreal media are known to be omnipresent and want to know the reasoning behind every decision made by management. Unfortunately for Renaud, Martin St-Louis had no other answers for him than the simple fact that the management wanted to assess the young players in his organization.
«There's not really a philosophy Renaud, we try to give games to everyone (it's preseason now), and we assess them. There were no big thoughts behind those decisions.» - Martin St-Louis
In short, we love the straightforwardness of the head coach who never hesitates to say what he really thinks. This surely won't be the last time this season that we will witness a similar moment during a press conference.
Here is the sequence in question:
