Major Setback for the Lightning: Star Player Suffers Significant Injury and will miss several weeks
Disastrous news has just been announced for Tampa Bay Lightning fans.
Even though many journalists were talking about a short-term injury regarding star goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy, Kevin Weekes has just confirmed that he has undergone back surgery and will therefore miss a minimum of 8 to 10 weeks.
"I am told that Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender, Andrei Vasilevskiy, has successfully undergone back surgery; he should be fully recovered in 8 to 10 weeks." - Kevin Weekes
Ouch! An announcement that is likely to greatly affect the Lightning's performances during the first two months of activity.
Julien Brisebois will absolutely need to find a solution quickly if he wants his team not to be too affected by this heartbreaking news. Jonas Johansson, who only played three games in the NHL last year, is currently the only goaltender under contract.
One thing is certain, there is likely to be movement in the Lightning in the coming days!
