Major information: a big rumor is directly confirmed by the Canadiens
Given that the team currently has three goalies, nine defensemen, and 14 forwards on the regular roster, it is foreseeable that other moves will take place soon within the Montreal Canadiens.
However, in his most recent press conference, where he showed exemplary transparency, Kent Hughes confirmed a major rumor currently circulating about his team.
With currently four goalies under NHL contracts, the General Manager revealed that one of them would be on his way out. While he mentioned the name of Casey DeSmith as a potential candidate to leave the organization, Hughes played his cards by saying there could be a surprise.
Kent Hughes told Casey DeSmith to be patient. He might be traded or there could be a deal to allow him to play in MTL. A case that will evolve before the start of the season.

He also made a very interesting revelation by mentioning that there were "certain things in progress he couldn't talk about". Everything seems to point towards a negotiation that could lead to a trade soon with the Canadiens.
With $3.7M over the salary cap for the Canadiens, and since he doesn't want to put Carey Price's contract on the long-term injured list before the start of the next season, it's a safe bet that Hughes' summer work is far from over.
