Major statement from the NHL regarding the five players involved in the Team Canada Junior scandal
The scandal involving Team Canada Junior from 2018 has been making many headlines recently. We are all eagerly waiting for the NHL to make an official announcement regarding the suspensions that will be applied to the players who took part in this simply atrocious story.
Although many observers have suggested that a final verdict should be rendered shortly, Garry Bettman's right-hand man, Bill Daly, has just broken the silence on this matter, stating that there is no timeline set up among the NHL executives to make an official announcement.
"In response to the question of whether the NHL will announce a resolution to the investigation into the 2018 WJC before the opening of the NHL training camps, NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly replied via email that he did not have a specific timetable to share at this time". - Katie Strang
Wow! A statement that will certainly not please hockey fans who are eager to see the players involved in this scandal pay for their completely unacceptable actions.
It's very difficult to understand why the NHL is taking so much time to make an official announcement when different journalists such as Frank Seravalli and Andy Strickland already seem to know the identity of the players who will be affected by this future suspension.
Let's just hope that Gary Bettman and company make a decision before the start of the season!
