We know that the Oilers are trying to acquire a quality goaltender, and there are currently negotiations with Kent Hughes and the Canadiens. This has been confirmed by Elliotte Friedman, who also mentioned that Jake Allen is on the Oilers' radar.
We have new information this morning, as a second source supports this rumor, and they even claim to know which player the Canadiens are targeting.
"Darren Dreger said this morning on TSN690 that the Habs had an eye on the young forward in the Oilers organization, Xavier Bourgault (1st round pick in 2021)." At 21 years old, Bourgault is very promising and would fit perfectly into Kent Hughes' plans. To be continued...
