Official statement from the Canadiens regarding David Savard, and it is not positive
Over time, we've come to know that David Savard is a true warrior who never hesitates to step in front of the NHL's most powerful shots. He even suffered a hand fracture as a result, but he has now made a strong comeback.
Indeed, his presence was felt immediately. The Canadiens are a much better defensive team with number 58 in their ranks, and he has even made contributions to the offense.
Unfortunately, it appears that David may have sustained an injury in the last game, and the organization has just confirmed the rumor.
"Defenseman David Savard will not participate in today's practice (therapy day)." - Montreal Canadiens
We don't know the severity of the injury, but one thing is certain: time is on his side as the team doesn't play until Wednesday night.
