Sean Monahan recently made a bold statement about Martin St-Louis
Today, Sean Monahan faced the media following his contract extension with the Montreal Canadiens. At his press conference, the 28-year-old forward made a major statement about Martin St-Louis and it speaks volumes about the appreciation he has for his head coach.
"He is a player who is part of the Hall of Fame and a person who is part of the Hall of Fame. He wants us to get better, he helps us improve, and I believe that having a coach like him - the way he runs training sessions, his energy, enthusiasm and positive mood every day - encourages you to really want success and work hard for him. I think this is the kind of coach I never had in my life. It's largely due to him that I decided to come back." - Sean Monahan
The Montreal Canadiens players have a strong admiration for their head coach, Martin St-Louis. This could be very beneficial to the team during free agency and it is encouraging to see that he has such a great relationship with his team.
Sean Monahan also provided an interesting update on his health, saying that he hadn't felt this good physically for the last 4-5 years. This is excellent news as, when at full health, Monahan is undoubtedly one of the best players in the Montreal lineup.
"I feel the most energized and closest to being 100% that I have been in the past four or five years." - Sean Monahan
We are eagerly anticipating the return of the forward along with Suzuki, Caufield, Dach and company when training camp kicks off.
