Spectacular development: The CH reportedly received 5 monster offers for their 5th pick
The Montreal Canadiens are receiving a lot of attention in the lead up to the NHL Draft due to their fifth overall pick. It is widely expected that the top four picks will be Connor Bedard, Adam Fantilli, Leo Carlsson and Will Smith, leaving the fifth selection open for much speculation.
This pick has become highly sought after, as many teams have expressed interest in drafting the Russian prospect Matvei Michkov. According to renowned insider Frank Seravalli, no less than five different offers have been made for this pick by Montreal's general manager Kent Hughes.
Wow! That's absolutely huge!
As mentioned earlier by Nashville Predators GM Barry Trotz, the Canadiens hold the key to the draft.
It's becoming increasingly clear that there are only two possible scenarios for the Habs.
Either they select Matvei Michkov with their 5th overall pick, or they trade this pick to another team in a blockbuster deal.
It's shaping up to be an incredibly exciting evening for Canadiens fans!
