It is an extremely busy day at the Montreal Canadiens as training camp finally takes off. Moreover, the general manager, Kent Hughes, and the head coach, Martin St. Louis, met the media this morning, divulging numerous very relevant details.

When asked about the health status of his new acquisition, Kent Hughes indicated that Tanner Pearson was not 100% recovered from his hand injury, but that he had nonetheless passed the numerous physical tests of the Vancouver Canucks.

Although he is not back to full capacity, it is very encouraging to note that the 31-year-old forward passed the various medical exams of his former team, having only played in 14 games last season.

Moreover, the general manager of the Habs notably confirmed that Pearson will be able to participate in the team's training camp tomorrow, adding that he was convinced that the left winger could provide valuable assistance to Montreal's offense this season.

He also mentioned a detail that took many journalists by surprise, indicating that the former New York Islanders player, Anthony Beauvillier, had contacted him last night to affirm that Tanner Pearson had been training with the Canucks and that he was ready for the upcoming season.

"Anthony Beauvillier sent me a text message last night to tell me that Pearson had skated with the team (Vancouver) to keep in shape, and that he is ready." - Kent Hughes

Wow! This is a greatly appreciated gesture, and it speaks to the beautiful relationship that the two men have created over the past few years when Kent Hughes was Anthony Beauvillier's agent before being hired by the Canadiens.

Tanner Pearson, now 31 years old, was a first-round pick by the Los Angeles Kings in 2012. The forward has reached the 40-point plateau three times during his career, accumulating 14 goals and 20 assists (34 points) in 68 games during the 2021-2022 season.

It will be very interesting to see the role he will play in Martin St. Louis's lineup this season. We strongly hope that he will be able to stay healthy throughout the year, playing a potentially significant role in the team's top-9.
