Unwillingly, the Toronto Maple Leafs organization has become the laughing stock of hockey fans, due to their enormous Stanley Cup drought dating back to 1967, as well as their immense lack of playoff success, with the team only winning one round since 2004 and it was this year.
In relation to the franchise's sparse success over decades, a restaurant has offered the ultimate insult by naming one of their poutines in honor of the Leafs.
Here's the description of the poutine on the menu:
"In typical Leafs fashion, a cold and overpriced dish served with underperforming gravy, frosty fries, and a side of disappointment."
Wow! The funniest part of this story is that the listed price is $67, a nod to the team's last championship conquest in Toronto.
You have to admit that this is a frankly well-played move by this restaurant!
