The 7 tasks of Kent Hughes: The two new forwards arriving in Montreal would already be identified
Among Kent Hughes' most pressing issues, the goaltending situation is undoubtedly the most urgent. It has been dragging on for far too long, and all three goalies deserve to play more often.
The recent seven-game road trip for the Canadiens has shifted the priorities, and suddenly, the goaltenders are in the spotlight. With injuries to Christian Dvorak and Josh Anderson, Kent Hughes will have to make a trade or recalls from Laval.
According to Anthony Marcotte, the voice of the Rocket, three players are being targeted for a call-up.
"It feels like a double call-up at forward from Laval in the next few hours to compensate for the losses of Dvorak and Anderson. I have the impression that we will call up Emil Heineman as a priority. The second one will be interesting. Brandon Gignac remains the most deserving, but he needs a contract. I wouldn't be surprised if we call up Sean Farrell, who just had an excellent week with the Rocket."
- Anthony Marcotte As mentioned by Marcotte, Brandon Gignac would deserve this honor, but he has a two-way AHL contract. Therefore, Kent Hughes would need to sign him to a two-way AHL/NHL contract first.
This might not happen as it would add a contract to the team's maximum of 50. So, don't be surprised to see Emil Heineman and Sean Farrell or Lias Andersson being called up.
