In the last few hours, a ranking from the popular account X by JFresh Hockey was published related to the 64 best NHL goalies based on fan votes.

It must be said, the Montreal Canadiens have not been so poorly represented in many years. The organization is almost ridiculed by the ranking, and it speaks volumes about the short-term future in the team's net.

In fact, throughout the league, the Tricolore would be the least solid team in goals, with its goaltending duo. The better positioned of the CH's two goalkeepers is Jake Allen at 41st, while Samuel Montembeault finds himself at the 47th rank.

Ouch! Let's say it doesn't look very good for the next season!

However, on the other hand, Montembeault is a goalkeeper who can reach another level at any time. He is only 26 years old and he was outstanding in the last senior World Championship, where he was Canada's number one goaltender.

In 40 games last season, the Quebecer maintained an average of 3.42 and an efficiency rate of 0.901. However, it must be put into perspective that he had to guard the goals for a very bad team, which was decimated by injuries and was not really up to the caliber to compete with the other NHL teams.

His next season will be determining whether he has somewhat the stuff to assume the role of starting goalkeeper in Montreal or not.

Here is the complete ranking:
