The 2023 draft is fast approaching!

Every team in the National League is currently working to make a choice among the talented players with the potential to join the NHL.

The Montreal Canadiens are one of the lucky teams to have two first-round picks. Knowing that this year's crop will be one of the strongest in several years, it's the perfect time for Kent Hughes and his organization to get a good player.

Choosing 5th overall among NHL teams, the Canadiens will have the choice between future stars such as Will Smith, Leo Carlsson, Matvei Michkov, Dalibor Dvorsky, Ryan Leonard, Zach Benson, and David Reinbacher.

Thanks to the 2021-22 trade of Ben Chiarot with the Florida Panthers, the Tricolore obtained their first-round pick in 2023.

A real scorer will be present at the draft and the Habs could get their hands on him!

Daniil But, an 18-year-old forward who's 6'5"/203 lbs and racked up 26 points (15 goals) in 26 games last season. His shot draws everyone's attention, and he's been noticed for his intelligent plays.

Here are some of his highlights:click here
