The Montreal Canadiens will not make a call-up to replace Arber Xhekaj
As you may know, Arber Xhekaj left Thursday night's game against the Golden Knights after a solid hit from Ivan Barbashev. The big man did not return, and today, the Canadiens announced that his condition is being evaluated daily.
Number 72 was conspicuously absent from practice this morning, suggesting that the injury is serious enough for him to miss Saturday night's game in Boston.
It was expected that the Canadiens would announce the recall of a defenseman, but that will not happen. Instead, Jordan Harris will be back and paired with Gustav Lindstrom.
"Jordan Harris will return to the #Habs line-up tomorrow in Boston taking the place of the injured Arber Xhekaj."
Harris was also injured, but one can assume he is now at 100% or close to it.
