It's officially over for Jeff Petry with the Detroit Red Wings: he is no longer listed as part of the regular defensemen
The Detroit Red Wings have announced that Jeff Petry will once again be sidelined in their upcoming game.
Despite the team not having the strongest defense in the NHL, this has happened several times this year, and it has become apparent that Jeff Petry is no longer a regular in the top 6, and he will have to come to terms with that.
Unless there is a major turnaround in his performance, he will remain a depth defenseman for the rest of his career. It's sad to think about, considering he played a crucial role just two years ago.
Petry possesses several key attributes to keep up with today's fast-paced hockey as a defenseman, such as size and skating ability. However, he is no longer able to maintain consistency.
