Of course, the forecasts that interest us the most are those concerning the Montreal Canadiens, so here's what NHL.com predicts for the production of four players from the Habs:
We're certainly thrilled to see that the two young offensive stars of the team are projected to reach 70 points, or nearly, in the eyes of the NHL analysts. Additionally, Caufield is expected to hit the 40-goal mark for the first time in his career.
However, it must be said that the prediction for Slafkovsky is what's getting fans even more excited. At 19 years old, the first overall pick from 2022 would be taking his offensive development to another level, emerging more and more as a top-6 forward at a very young age.
If the tall Slovakian manages to achieve around fifteen goals and 46 points in his second professional season, it's truly promising for the rest of his career.
While he may not be breaking records like some first picks have done in the past, due to his imposing physique, his development might take more time. However, let's not forget that it's the results at 22 or 23 years old that matter, not the years of development before reaching one's full potential.
