The market value of Sean Monahan is revealed, and it's surprising
Among the pleasant surprises in the NHL this year, Sean Monahan is definitely part of the group. While we knew the forward could be dominant, his real challenge was staying healthy, and he seems to be on a good track.
Not only is he accumulating points at a good pace, but he excels in face-offs and is used in all game situations. He makes his teammates better, all while playing on the third line quite impressive!
Kent Hughes will have a tough decision to make because number 91 also acts as a leader in the Canadiens' locker room and could be valuable for a few more seasons, considering he's only 29 years old.
If a trade is in the cards, its value has just been revealed by Arpon Basu, and it's surprising. According to the journalist, Monahan could fetch a first-round pick for the Canadiens.
Given his modest salary of $1.985 million and his performance exceeding expectations, it's surprising that his value isn't even higher. When you consider that Ben Chiarot brought in more in his trade, it raises some questions.
If Hughes doesn't have a better offer, his decision might be easier to make.
