The news is now confirmed by Kent Hughes
Yesterday, we learned that Kent Hughes placed defenseman Nicolas Beaudin on unconditional waivers with the intention of terminating his contract.
24 hours later, it is now confirmed. The Canadiens and Beaudin have mutually agreed to part ways. The defenseman had been acquired in exchange for Cam Hillis.
It's surprising since Nicolas had good statistics with the Rocket, but he was no longer playing. He clearly wasn't part of the plans and fell victim to the organization's considerable depth on the left side of the defense.
Alongside his agent, they had asked Kent Hughes to find a solution quickly a few weeks ago. And that's how it concludes.
We wish him the best in finding a team where he will have a more significant role and the opportunity to prove his value as a hockey player.
